2nd class of Cake Decorating........................
Here is Kara, my lovely daughter in law. She has cut the cake in half, made an icing 'dam" and is filling the cake with lemon filling. I FORGOT my box full of equipment soo we didn't have food coloring! Oh well! :)
Voila! Now add on the top piece. The icing dam prevents the filling from oozing out.
Next put on the "crumb layer of icing", or the "dirty icing". This is a thin layer that you let sit for a while and harden. Then you add another layer on top of this and you will not see a single crumb!
Next trace your design on parchment paper, flip over and out line in a thin piping of icing and place on cake. Lightly press and pull up! Now you have an outline to fill in!
On the left a cupcake on the right a hamburger! Remember we forgot the food coloring!
